The Food Industry has been increasing their strategies for a long time and we all can notice their presence everywhere, either operating some tools in any field online/ offline or anywhere they can call consumers’

attention, of all kinds of them. But this last few years their huge presence using social media, collective buying platforms, online shops, websites and apps, to be in contact with their potential clients, has made the food & beverage industry become very interesting and had people curious about everything that was/ is happening.
Their fast development to adapt their industry to the technology, the high level of understanding about the change of human behaviour, in other words: the way people eat, has became  part of really important trends. In 2012 the Macro trend in the Food & Beverage marketing is called “Digital Eating”.

 

Nowadays Digital Eating is making a big impact on the global society, the technology that has been used to attract buyers and users now is being used inside of restaurants, fast food, supermarkets, coffee shops and bars creating a huge interaction between brand-client-product by offering information to the potential buyer and giving different ways to experience this moment of “living the food culture”. Is doesn’t matter if it is junky food or high quality one, everyone in the food & beverage industry are into the new up coming technology. The “touch world” & robots serving in bars already are things of the present, the movie Back to the Future is already past, interactive screen bars, Ipad menus, interactive tables, this is just the beginning of the “digital eating era”. In less time than expected everything will be controlled from our Iphones and androids. So many brands already have very good apps about their menus and even help you not to get out of your diet, besides telling you about how good the products are, what has been used to prepare the meals, more than just delivering it.

 

Today the food market is one of the greatest thing that has improved with the globalization; the different exchanges of cultures, movements, information, technology  made the world change their way of conceiving food. Another fact that made our food choice easier has to do with the open international trade, the agreements between so many countries brought the best & worse options of food from all times. Afterall, one the most important thing to live well, is eating well and healthy, which makes this trend a top trend in 2012. You are what you eat, that’s what a reality show from BBC has been selling for a couple of years and it sounds related to what we are talking about today. With or without high tech, eating well is still the main point.

The coolest thing found about high tech interaction is this restaurant in London that has a totally cool interactive table.
