WOW Lifestyle – Mykita & Design Hotels™ Introduces “The finding infinity GLASSES”

Lifestyle, News, Special

MYKITA and Design Hotels™ have long been moving in the same circles. Both based in Berlin, the two companies share a pioneering, progressive attitude to design – whether it’s applied to eyewear or to hospitality. When Design Hotels™ paired up with the grassroots initiative, Finding Infinity, MYKITA came on board to support the project with its mascot,
a pair of glasses to characterize the project. The result is “MYKITA for Finding Infinity”.

MYKITA developed a pair of glasses inspired by the shape of the number eight, the symbol for infinity and the logo of Finding Infinity. The aviator glasses’ black frame is made of an ecofriendly, recyclable and biodegradable acetate material. The hinge, a patented MYKITA system, is golden to correspond with the bright and distinctive yellow lens.

The glasses will become the insignia for the Design Hotels™ is Finding Infinity initiative, and will be worn by the team of filmmakers, photographers, journalists and engineers as they travel across Europe on the road trip to promote new ways of thinking about energy, globalization and natural resources – and by all who want to show their support for the project.

The glasses will be available to buy in a limited edition run in the MYKITA online store, which will launch in early summer 2013.

Design Hotels™ has embarked on a full-speed-ahead initiative into the arena of corporate social responsibility by teaming up with Finding Infinity, an organization employing creative, grass-roots activities to set the path for a future based on infinite resources.

The far-reaching sustainability program “Design Hotels™ is Finding Infinity” will commence in March 2013 with an extended road trip and event series through Europe to inspire member hotels and the larger community to become a part of this future. This highly engaging and interactive platform will open the door to meaningful dialogue – and more importantly, actions.

Member hotels will benefit from EarthCheck, a leading eco-management and certification program. The European Climate Foundation is a philanthropic body that promotes climate and energy policies. Its Roadmap 2050 project strives to radically reduce Europe’s greenhouse gas emissions by the year 2050.
